This guitar was custom-ordered by a distinguished customer from Surabaya, East Java. As the owner of a large logistics company, his strong financial position allows him the capability to own several high-end branded guitars from around the world. His vision for this guitar was to achieve an elegant look, eschewing excessive adornment or inlay work, allowing the natural beauty of exotic woods to shine.

For the top, I selected Italian Alpine spruce that has been dry-aged for over 10 years. Italian spruce has been renowned for centuries as one of the finest materials for instrument making, famously used exclusively by the legendary Stradivarius for his violins.

For the back and sides, the customer chose cocobolo rosewood, one of the hardest and densest exotic rosewood species. Cocobolo is celebrated for its superior acoustic properties, often considered to surpass even the legendary Brazilian rosewood.

The rosette features a custom design comprising several layers of wood, including African ebony to harmonize with the fingerboard material, and cocobolo to match the back and sides. In the La Grandeur series, we meticulously ensure that every detail harmonizes seamlessly.

The inlays are inspired by the Bible verse Psalm 1:3: “That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” This verse is a core value for the customer, symbolizing his desire to stay close to God to produce goodness in his life.

In terms of sound, the combination of the flamed redwood top and Mexican bocote body provides a balanced and powerful tone across all registers, featuring sparkling and thick trebles alongside clear bass notes.

As with all guitars in the La Grandeur series, the setup and fretwork are performed using the PLEK System, an ultra-precise computerized system that ensures maximum precision, the lowest possible action without any buzz, and optimal playability.
