This guitar was custom-ordered by a distinguished customer from Jakarta. As a successful business owner, his strong financial position allows him to possess several limited-edition branded guitars from various renowned manufacturers. His vision for ordering the La Grandeur guitar was to have an Indonesian guitar with top level quality that even surpass those branded guitars in his collection.

For the top, I selected a very special and rare sinker red cedar. Sinker red cedar is globally renowned for its beautiful appearance and unique sound. I specifically chose a lightweight and resonant top to achieve a high level of responsiveness and dynamic range.

For the back and sides, this is the first guitar I have introduced using golden nanmu, a precious wood from China. Golden nanmu is celebrated for its exquisite beauty and superior sound. It is as light as Spanish cypress, a wood often used to build traditional flamenco blanca guitars, but with an exotic grain and physical beauty that surpasses even flamed maple. Furthermore, due to its strong physical properties, this wood was historically used as pillars in the Forbidden City.

The inlays are based on the Ginkgo Biloba leaf, a symbol of health and longevity, reflecting this customer’s desire for a long and healthy life.

In terms of sound, the combination of the sinker red cedar top and golden nanmu body provides a very powerful and responsive tone, featuring sparkling and thick trebles alongside deep resonant bass notes.

As with all guitars in the La Grandeur series, the setup and fretwork are performed using the PLEK System, an ultra-precise computerized system that ensures maximum precision, the lowest possible action without any buzz, and optimal playability.
