Fortissimo is a dynamic sign in music which means ‘very loud’.

So La Grandeur Fortissimo is a Double Top guitar. It took me more than 2 years and several prototypes to finally be able to make the first ever Indonesian made Double Top guitar.

Special thanks to many master luthier in Europe for sharing such valuable information and guide me throughout the process in developing this very special construction system.

IGS Double Top is a hybrid between Nomex and Balsa system. We use balsa wood, but we cut & shape the balsa exactly like Nomex. With this system i would like to achieve the best possible sound without compromising the durability / lifespan of the instrument.
Sometimes i still use Nomex core depends on what kind of sound / response that i would like to achieve.

In this special series, i incorporate my Indonesian culture into the rosette. The rosette mosaic theme is inspired from Batik, Songket, and Ulos. The rosette is beautifully framed with European style herringbone pattern, symbolizes that this is a guitar that proudly handcrafted in Indonesia, but with the quality of European’s best guitars.

On this guitar I poured all my knowledge and experience as an active guitarist, collector and guitar maker

• I add the 2 bars of ebony reinforcement and 2 bars of carbon fibre inside the neck to ensure a maximum stiffness & stability
• The top wood can be combined between spruce / cedar / redwood in an IGS signature double top construction to achieve the lightest weight possible and creating a very powerful / respomsive sound right from the moment the guitar is born.
• Gotoh Premium tuning machine (the highest model) to ensure a much better precision and durability.
• Camel bone nut & saddle to achieve ‘aged / vintage’ looks. Camel bone is a denser / harder material than regular ox bone, so it is better in transmiting the vibration energy and will improve the sound even further.
• All components incl. back & sides, neck, fingerboard etc are all using a master grade wood that has been dry aged for at least 10 years before the construction process
• Like an authentic German Double Top, i try to achieve the overall weight as light as possible. The body resonance is around F# / G
