The top of the La Grandeur Fortissimo features a double top construction with a balsa core, allowing for a more responsive sound, an expanded dynamic range, and a fuller tonal quality.
The back and sides are crafted from Golden Nanmu, a prized species of wood from China also used in the pillars of the Forbidden City. This wood not only captivates with its golden hue and three-dimensional patterns but also possesses physical properties nearly identical to Spanish Cypress—light and resonant—making it ideally suited for the lightweight double top construction typical of German guitars.
The most remarkable feature of this guitar lies in its rosette. The original rosette design from Ivan Guitar Studio is inspired by the works of two legendary American luthiers: Eric Sahlin and Jeff Elliott. The center of the rosette, crafted from Madagascar Rosewood, is elegantly framed with genuine abalone shell, a design by Eric Sahlin. Meanwhile, the chip carved features around the outer and inner circles are the creative touch of Jeff Elliott.
