This guitar was custom-ordered by a customer from Medan, North Sumatra. Instead of opting for a full body, he requested a Venetian cutaway feature to facilitate playing in higher fret positions.

The inlay design features a Canadian maple leaf, inspired by his Chinese name “Yip/Ye,” which means “leaf” in English.

In terms of sound, he desired a strong and responsive tone with deeper bass. To achieve this, I made the back slightly thinner and used a lighter wood species for the back brace.
