I met Bogi Nugrahadi for the first time in 2014, shortly after he finished Guitar No. 11. Even though he was just in the early stages of his career, it was clear to me that the quality of his guitars far exceeded that of most Indonesian and even Southeast Asian luthiers. His meticulous craftsmanship, combined with the strong and powerful sound, convinced me that he is a local Indonesian guitar maker deserving of representation in my shop.

Fast forward to today, and his guitars have evolved even further. He has adapted the Australian lattice style for the back and sides to enhance the projection of his instruments, while employing a combination of traditional fan bracing and three horizontal braces on the top to strengthen it across the grain. This system produces an extremely powerful guitar that can compete with, if not surpass, many expensive European models.

Aesthetically, Bogi Nugrahadi’s guitars offer an elegant and sophisticated appeal. Every detail, including the rosette, purfling, and decorative elements, is handmade by him. He executes every aspect perfectly, with a level of craftsmanship that rivals many top-tier world-class luthiers.
